As we combat the spread of COVID-19, much of the country has been shut down over the last several weeks, including your dental office. With the effects of social distancing slowing the number of people diagnosed with the virus, restrictions are starting to lift, and many businesses are reopening. Hirshfield Dental Care is no exception. We are happy to welcome our patients back into our office. Rest assured, while we open our doors, your safety is our top priority. Here are 3 ways we’re committed to keeping you safe.
1. Improved Personal Hygiene Standards
Dental offices are known to be some of the cleanest places in the U.S. because of strict sanitation protocols. Although our office is always clean, we are going the extra mile to ensure the safety of our team and our patients. Our staff has completed advanced training in personal hygiene. We do more than just wash our hands and wear gloves. Our dental team is wearing their hair up and leaving their jewelry at home. They are also keeping their fingernails short to make it easier to remove all bacteria from their hands.
Our dental team will also be wearing double-masking, and our administrative team will also wear ASTM Level 3 masks. We may also choose to wear FDA-approved face shields to further reduce the risk of virus transmission.
2. CDC-Approved Sterilization System
Cleanliness is essential for dental patient safety in any setting, which is why our office is using a CDC-approved instrument sterilization system that includes heat and pressure. We will effectively clean, sanitize, and disinfect all our instruments, equipment, and surfaces between each patient.
We also strive to create a clean, safe environment, which is why we deep clean our office each night. We’ve upgraded our HVAC system to include HEPA-grade filters and stand-alone air cleaners throughout the office to remove airborne pathogens.
3. Encourage Social Distancing Measures
Social distancing is crucial to slowing the spread of COVID-19, which is why we aren’t shaking your hand or giving out hugs when greeting our patients. We have also implemented a few modifications to the way we schedule appointments to limit patient-to-patient contact. We aren’t scheduling as many patients each day to allow for more time between visits to clean the office and exam rooms. Don’t worry, we still offer block scheduling for your convenience.
We Look Forward to Seeing You
We’ll keep your safety a top priority as our office reopens to serve your dental needs. If you have any questions or concerns about our safety protocols, contact our office today to speak with a member of our team.
